If I Had a Hammer, I’d Smash Patriarchy A lot of ink has been spilt to say that feminism is anti-male rhetoric and/or outdated, but when you think of women earning 77% of what men do for the same work, it’s clear that these arguments are divisive distractions. Sure the “f” word carries some historical baggage. And the radical notion that women are people is a complex social issue to resolve, so perhaps the most direct path to feminism would be equality. Look at Hollywood directors, the U.S. Senate, professional cartoonists, professional authors, or any number of other careers and you’ll find women either not getting paid for their work or representing a small percentage of the work force. So really, if a hammer is the fastest path to equality, could anyone really be surprised?
