How to measure for sizing?

These waist cinchers are sold by size, measured in inches when the garment is completely laced shut. Depending on how you want the lacing to look–completely closed, open, somewhat open–the sizing will vary.

  1. Standing or sitting, find your natural waist; this is the area where you bend side to side.
  2. Use a flexible measuring tape, string, ribbon, etc. to measure around the waist.
  3. If you want a closed look, use this size. If you want an open look with more cinching, subtract up to 4 inches/10 cm.
  4. However, if you feel comfortable coming in person, we can take measurements for you!

How to lace up a Waist Cincher?

  1. Begin by unlacing the cincher evenly, then wrapping it around your waist and fastening the busk in the front.
  2. Start tightening the laces on your court after the busk is secure. Start in the middle at the pull loops, which should be located at the narrowest point of your waist.
  3. Once the pull loops are pulled tight, begin pulling each X at the top and working your way down, and from the bottom, moving up toward the center. This process will need to be repeated 2 to 3 times to fully tighten the laces.
  4. The cincher should be laced to fit comfortably, yet snugly. Do not over tighten the laces because this can damage your corset, hurt your body, and lead to discomfort.

Caring for your Black Satin Waist Cincher:

To maintain the integrity of this amazing garment, there are a few important things to remember when cleaning this cincher. We highly recommend dry cleaning when possible; if you are planning to wash and dry at home, here are a few tips:

  • Use warm water–not too hot and not cold
  • Do not wring to remove excess water
  • Hang on a a line to dry in shade; direct sunlight could cause fading of the color
  • Additionally, if utilizing an iron, use on a low heat with caution.
