Cock rings are awesome toys for those who want to experience harder erections. They restrict blood flow creating a sense of pressure or tightness that people seem to like. They also look really sexy. But they can do damage if they aren’t used properly, so here at As You Like It, we’ve put together a handy little list on how to safely use a cock ring for the first time.
MATERIALS: There are a ton of different materials that cock rings are made of. The most common is Silicone, followed by Elastomer, Neoprene and Leather. We recommend these for most first time wearers as they are stretchier than the alternatives. There are also cock rings made of metal and wood . These are not for the first time wearers. They are inflexible and if you get the wrong size and get stuck, you will need to go to the ER to get it off. In between the metal and and the silicone is Nitrile, it is not flexible, you must know your size to use these but they are a popular alternative.
SIZE: Proper sizing is super important. As a general rule, 1.75″-2″ rings work well for pretty much everyone, but if you want to be extra sure, there’s an easy way to measure to find your size. Get a piece of string that’s at least 6″ long. Wrap it around the base of your cock, behind the scrotum. Mark where the end meets the rest of the string. Measure that and divide by 3.14. That is the size of your ideal cock ring. When it doubt, round UP rather than down. There’s nothing worse than an ER trip to get your cock ring off. Trust us. Alternatively, you could get an adjustable cock ring or a stretchy one. We recommend Silicone rings the most but mostly adjustable or stretchy cock rings work great for first time wearers. Pro Tip: Pack that come in multiple sizes and density is a great way to get started to find your perfect fit.
PUTTING IT ON: Once you have your size figured out, the next step is to put it on. You want to start off when you’re softer and if you have hair you are going to want lube. They are usually worn at the base of the penis and behind the scrotum but some people wear just around the shaft. Start with one testicle and then the other. Fold your cock, point it downwards through the ring, and push it through. Once it’s on, you’re good to go. They are worn at the Some restrictions (pun intended): Take off a cock ring at the first sign of pain or chill. Don’t leave it on for more than 20mins at a time if you are a first time user listen to you body first and in case that doesn’t help try it for a short time period like 5 mins.so you can figure out what feels right to you. And NEVER EVER sleep in a cock ring.
TAKING IT OFF: Once you’re done doing the deed (whatever that deed may be), taking off a cock ring is as easy as putting it on-just in reverse. Lube can be helpful for both putting on and taking off a cock ring. You never want to wear them to the point where they are no longer comfortable.
