What Is This Workshop About?

Embark on a captivating journey into Shibari 101 with Nikole, also known as Ropeboundkitten, a seasoned rope maker and rigger from Oregon. This workshop delves deep into the practical aspects of Shibari, focusing on rope selection, safety techniques, and hands-on practice.

Participants will learn about the origins of Shibari and the importance of using specific ropes for safe and aesthetically pleasing ties. Nikole emphasizes communication and nerve safety, guiding attendees on how to check nerve pathways and ensure proper blood flow during bondage sessions. Pre-negotiation and effective communication strategies are also covered.

The heart of the workshop lies in practical demonstrations and practice sessions. Nikole showcases a range of aesthetic ties and leads participants through a bedroom rope tie, offering hands-on experience and personalized feedback to refine techniques.

What Should Attendees Know?

• This workshop is beginner-friendly! 

• Attendees must bring a 30-foot long rope, as well as either safety shears or a safety hook for cutting rope safely. These are available for purchase at the store. Please arrive 15 minutes early (5:45pm) if you need to make purchases, to help ensure that class can start on time. 

• Be aware that masking is optional for attendees.

•  To ensure a functional and informative workshop for all, attendance will be limited to 16 people. Be sure to get your tickets early!

Who is Your Instructor?

Nicole, a.k.a. Ropeboundkitten, is a rope maker and artist in Oregon. She prides her company on ethical sourcing and high-quality natural and organic fibers. Nikole has been making and teaching rope aethetics and connection for about 5 years. She loves focusing on individual expression and creative aesthetics and connection with yourself and your partners. A personal goal of hers is to create a safe space of learning and expression where all feel welcome.
