What Is This Workshop About?
Negotiation
: a formal discussion between people who are trying to reach an agreement
: an act of negotiating
I do a fair amount of negotiating. We all do. How do you want your coffee? Do you want fries with that? Can I get mine with an extra side of breath play?
How does one learn how to perform this act well and thoroughly. The best way is to actually do it. The least preferred way but honestly effective as hell is trial and error. This is way chock full of danger and pitfalls. Personal safety isn't something to take lightly and using a word that can be misconstrued may not be the safest thing. This goes double for not being able to accurately say what you want or more importantly, what you don't want. Go slow, baby steps.
Some people treat negotiating like a contest. "I am gonna get you to do what I want and not what you want... Hey you agreed to this, don't you remember?" That's a shitty way to do it in my opinion. It's not a war, but we can negotiate that if you want ;). We want everyone to get what they want or at least as close as possible. That's my goal. This is supposed to be fun remember?
Come and chat with Crystal and myself. Between both of us we have close to 40 years experience. We will do our best to share what we have learned about negotiating and safe words. That way we can all get what we want in a safe and fun way.

About the facilitators:
Emmett Rise is the owner and maker at Breathe Toys, a local kink toy company. He and his partner own Blaq Haus, a small private Kink venue that focuses on education. He has been playing for 10 years in the kink scene and is a respected and safe top who believes consent and mutual respect come first. He believes in victims rights and accountability for all. R.A.C.K. and P.R.I.C.K. are the models he follows.
Crystal is a kinky, queer, switch who has been in the lifestyle for over 20 years. She started out in the world of spanking and impact and it is her most beloved kink. She has taught classes, hosted events and mentored others. Her goal is to provide education to as many people as possible.
