Description
Transgender Health: A Practitioner’s Guide to Binary and Non-Binary Trans Patient Care covers an array of topics including affirming language, disparities and barriers to care, hormone interactions with other medications, basic medical care, and gender affirmation surgeries.
This guide offers insights on the wider social and ethical issues experienced by trans patients and should be required reading for medical practitioners and psychiatrists.
While being an excellent resource for providers, Transgender Health is also a great source of knowledge for trans folks looking for more information on newer research and procedures.
Parents can also find this book helpful to understand more in depth the growing research and info on trans children and adolescents.
Although this book is published in the UK (and much of the information on referrals, legality, and health insurance is regionally-specific), the fundamental concepts, science, and best practices are relevant anywhere in the world.
